Employability Coordinator – UNSW Faculty of Engineering
The Opportunity
The Employability Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and enhancing faculty wide employability initiatives for UNSW Engineering students, with a particular focus on the Engineering Practice Intensive (EPI), and the new Engineering Leadership Programme for engineering students. Working within the Faculty of Engineering, Student Experience & Employability team, the role supports the delivery of high quality, structured experiential learning opportunities that contribute to students’ Engineering Professional Practice (ENGG4999) requirement and broader professional development. Key responsibilities include coordinating the end-to-end delivery of the EPI Programme, supporting the design and delivery of the Engineering Leadership Programme, helping to expand and promote employability offerings across the faculty, monitoring student engagement, and working with industry partners and internal stakeholders to secure and deliver new opportunities for students.
- Salary, Level 7: $113,926 - $123,302 per annum + 17% superannuation
- Full time
- Fixed-Term – 2 years
- Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia (on campus attendance required 3 days a week)

Skills and Experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualification and subsequent experience in a related field (for example education, engineering, business, employability, careers or project management), or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in project or programme coordination within a complex organisation, including planning, logistics, communications and tracking progress against milestones.
- Experience coordinating student facing programmes or events, such as internships, Work Integrated Learning, industry linked projects, leadership or other co-curricular activities, preferably in a higher education context.
- Demonstrated ability to work with external partners, such as industry organisations or professional bodies, including coordinating practical arrangements and supporting collaborative project delivery. Strong service orientation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships with students, academic and professional staff, and external stakeholders.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear emails, web content, promotional material, reports and presentations for different audiences.
- Ability to collect, organise and interpret data to inform decision making and evaluate programmes, with familiarity with basic analytical or visualisation tools an advantage.
- High level organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail, with proven ability to manage competing demands, meet deadlines and exercise sound judgement, initiative and problem-solving skills.
