The Part-Time Credential and Completion Support Specialist supports students enrolled in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs (Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer and Information Systems, Network Administration and Support, Cybersecurity, Computer Programming Certificate, Java Programming Certificate and Java and Web Programming Certificate).
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Advises students regarding curriculum, courses, program completion, graduation, internship opportunities, and job-related skills.
- Notifies students of job opportunities sent to Middlesex College and provides support in resume writing and developing good interview skills.
- Assists students in finding appropriate services and resources to ensure student success.
- Coordinates with faculty to reach out to at-risk students to ensure student success.
- Participates in the coordination of events and workshops to support student learning.
- Performs other duties as assigned regarding student success.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related area
- Familiarity with the community college student population
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collegially with students and staff
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with Computer Science curriculum
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
Duration: Until 5/30/2026 with the potential to extend beyond this date contingent on funding
SCHEDULE: Flexible, Monday to Friday with some evenings required
Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters
Part-Time, up to 20 hours per week for 10 weeks each semester
Please be aware that this is a pooled position. Your completed application will enable hiring officials to contact you at some point in the future if and when a hiring need arises for a future semester.
This is a specially funded position, dependent for its existence upon federal, state, or other non-College operating funds, and is not funded pursuant to the regular College budget. Continued employment is always contingent upon satisfactory performance and College needs. Grant funded positions are also contingent upon continued funding. This appointment is for the specified period only. Employment beyond the expiration date of the grant is subject to appropriate provisions of existing collectively bargained agreements in effect at the time for employees covered by those agreements.
