About the Role
The Technical Officer, Chemistry supports undergraduate practical classes by preparing materials, setting up and packing down laboratories, and providing hands on assistance during lessons. The role maintains high standards of laboratory housekeeping and safety, contributes to documentation such as SOPs, SWPs and risk assessments, and works closely with academic and technical staff to plan and continuously improve practical operations. It also involves providing technical expertise to review experiments and train new users, supporting stocktakes, maintenance and procurement, and contributing to broader Faculty, School and Campus activities.
About You
We’re seeking candidates with a background in Chemistry who bring practical laboratory experience, strong safety awareness and confidence working with common analytical instruments. You’re organised, detail focused and able to manage tasks independently, troubleshoot effectively and refine procedures to support smooth, high quality laboratory operations.
